Dear Mom Vintage Shabby Chic Card

Hello everyone,

I am back from the most amazing vacation and ready for some card making :)
I wanted to make sure that I don't miss the deadlines of some of my favorite challenges, so I combined requirements of 5 of them to create this card:

I created a tall and skinny card based on a sketch from Mojo Monday
I used the color palette from House of Cards Challenge
I made the assortment of flowers for Flower Power at Artist Trading Post Exchange
I used ink, paint, seam binding, stamping, die cutting, distressing tool, embossing and flowers for Chose Your Challenge at Craft Hoarders Anonymous Challenge Blog
and I was inspired by beautiful color palette and photo by Scrapmagic

In this photo you can clearly see how dimensional this card really is...

Here is the closeup of the flower assortment. All the flowers were treated with antique linen, broken china and peacock feather distress inks, and then covered with picket fence and clear crackle paint.

I started off with 110lb beige cardstock for my base, then added a layer of navy blue cardstock with splashes of white paint. The next layer was a piece of dark beige cardstock also splashed with white paint and with edges covered with picket fence distress paint. Both layers were distressed on the edges...
Next up I used a Spellbinders fence die cut and a piece of patterned paper distressed with antique linen distress ink. Then I layered bunch of different Spellbinder dies all treated with picket fence distress paint.
I added a vellum banner and stamped my Dear Mom sentiment with faded jeans distress ink. All the die cuts were mounted with adhesive foam for that extra dimension...

I used seam binding ribbon in ivory color to create this shabby bow. I hand died the ribbon with broken china and spiced marmalade distress inks.

Just one more view of the finished card...

12 Tags of 2015 -January

Hello everyone,

I have finally come up with enough courage to enter this amazing challenge...

Here is what I created based on Tim's tag:

I put a little twist of my own to the shape of the tag as you can see...
I used Bahama Blue paint as well as Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain paints to create the background. All those paints were applied to wrinkled tissue layer ontop of the tag...
I used the word stickers and Black Soot distress marker around the edges of stickers, just like in the tutorial.
I splattered some white paint on the tag and added mirrored starts and a vintage key.

Word "twenty" was covered with black crackle paint and then with gold paint. While gold paint was still wet, I removed some of it to uncover the black crackled layer...
Numbers 1 and 5 were covered with antique gold glass glitter which was also sprinkled on the tag while it was still wet from Glue n' Seal...
The ribbon was initially yellow...I used vibrant turquoise distress spray paint, Walnut Stain distress paint and some water to die the ribbon...

I hope you enjoyed this post...
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by...

Shabby Sunshine Birthday Card

Hello everyone,
just a quick post of a card my coworker asked me to make for her daughter:

My coworker calls her daughter Sunshine all the time, so she asked me to create a card with that theme...
I used many layers of distressed edges cardstock in different colors. The top layer has texture paste stencil pattern. As you can see I did alot of liquid pearl embellishing.

Just a closeup of the sun :)

Birthday Banner and the Shabby bow...

Vintage Get Well Soon Card

Hello everyone,

I made a card for a very special lady that had to have emergency surgery and we are all lucky she is well and alive now. I wanted to brighten her day with this card:

I used gesso on pretty much everything on this card...all the layers of distressed patterned paper are covered with light coat of gesso, doily and Tim Holtz clock cutout, the flowers which I made myself, by the way, are also covered with gesso and some crackle paint. The birdcage has a layer of gesso applied to it as well...The sentiment was created on my PC and printed onto a piece of vellum.

I am not sure how much you can really see the texture on the flowers, but here they are!

You can see how I attached the birdcage so that it gives extra dimension to the card...

One more side shot from the other side :)

I made a keepsake box for the card to protect it during the shipping and to complement the card design. I am shipping this card later on today and I truly hope that Lisa will enjoy it. :)

Vintage Baby Card

Hello everybody,
Happy New Year! May it bring you bundles of health, happiness, prosperity and crafting inspiration!

Here is my latest creation:

This card was probably one of the most detailed ones I have done so far, meaning, many different techniques were used to create it...

The very first layer is a piece of white tulle that is slightly bigger than dimensions of the card so it is peeking behind all other layers. The second layer is a piece of white cardstock covered with crinkled hot pink tissue paper that was treated with two heavy layers of gesso. Tissue paper was optional element to use on the card at The Mixed Media Card Challenge Blog. I used the sketch from Fusion Challenge to create this card.
The banner was made using Inspired by Stamping music sheet paper. I covered it white a very thin layer of gesso and stamped some little doilies on it and also randomly on the cardstock to satisfy requirement for The Artistic Stamper Challenge that requires some stamping on challenge entries.

I created this frame using my Cricut machine, it was a Sophisticated Cartridge cutout. The bottom layer was covered with a thin layer of gesso to dull down the shine of the cardstock. The top layer was covered with texture paste and glitter. I hope you can see the shimmery glittery on it... Little stroller is also a Cricut cutout again covered with light coat of gesso to give it that rustic look. I mounted the top layer of the frame with foam adhesive to give it some dimension. The frame was the theme of Vintage Utfordring Challenge #93

I added this white shabby bow and embellished it with a vintage button that has music sheet on it. You can see the layer of cardstock that I added some damask stencil texture paste to it...
